OBITUARY
Charles S. Seger
Charles Samuel Seger, 51, of Seger mines, died at 10:45 a.m., Wednesday, October 26. His death occurred while being admitted to the Cleveland Clinic.
In poor health for some time, Mr. Seger left his home on Tuesday and had an appointment at the Cleveland Hospital for 9 a.m. Wednesday. While admission information was being taken, Mr. Seger was fatally stricken.
Well known throughout the district Mr. Seger was born at Turtle Creek, July 14, 1898. He was a son of the late Samuel and Dora Seger.
Mr. Seger took an active part in the coal business founded by his father and uncle the late John Seger, until several years ago when he retired because of poor health. He was
connected with operations at Seger Works and at various points throughout the Valley.
Aside from seven and a half years spent in California, Mr. Seger had lived all his life in Ligonier Valley and at Seger Works.
Recently, he had been engaged with his son in the jewelry business in Derry.
Surviving are: his widow, Mrs. Ruth Froelich Seger; a daughter, Mrs. Nancy Lawrence, of Corvalis, Oregon; a son, Charles Samuel, Jr., at home; and four sisters: Mrs. Mary Gagley, of Santa Monica, Cal; Mrs. Roma Petch, of Mojave, Cal; Miss Shirley Seger, of Van Nuys, Cal; and Mrs. C. J. Sweeting, of Florida. A cousin Mrs. Mayme Vogele, of Ligonier, also survives.
Friends were received at the late home where funeral services were held Saturday. Interment followed in the Ligonier Valley Cemetery.
