Joshua Vogele Dies At Home Here After Lingering Illness

Funeral services in charge of Rev. D. Alan Martens, pastor of the Presbyterian Church, will be held at two o'clock this afternoon at the residence for Joshua Vogele, will known Ligonier coal operator, who died at 5:15 o'clock Tuesday morning at his Main street home. Interment will be made in the Woodlawn cemetery, Wilkinsburg.

Mr. Vogele, aged 59, had been seriously ill since May 10 and was confined to a Pittsburgh hospital and his home since that time.

He was the son of the late Gottleib and Hannah McKiernan Vogele, of Wilkinsburg, and came to Ligonier 24 years ago, being connected with the Seger Coal Company ever since. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mayme Seger Vogele; one son, John S. Vogele, of Ligonier, and three children at home, Richard, James and Ruth; one grandchild, John Vogele, and three sisters, Mrs. Jane Vogele Palmer, of Wilkinsburg; Mrs. Elsie Vogele Bethel, of Wilkinsburg, and Mrs. Edith Vogele Angerer, of Laughlintown.

Mr. Vogele was a member of Orient Lodge, F. and A. M., of Wilkinsburg. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, belonging to the New Castle consistory, and Syria Temple Shrine, Pittsburgh.
