Ligonier Valley R.R. Manager To Serve On Important Comm.
Joseph P. Gochnour, Jr., manager of the Ligonier Valley Rail Road is (sic) American Short Line Rail Road Association which on Friday and Saturday of this week will meet in the New Yorker Hotel, New York City, to prepare a questionnaire and handle the interests of the short rail road lines at an informal conference before the Interstate Commerce Commission.
The committee, including representatives from about a half dozen other short lines of the United States, will discuss the divisions of freight rates between the short and trunk lines with representative of the latter and members of the Commission, preparatory to the rendering of the final decisions by the latter today as to rate questions now before it for settlement.
A major improvement to the Ligonier Valley line has just been completed in the form of a quarter mile of new track on the curve at Longbridge, new 105-pound rails of latest design having been laid to replace the old rails.
