Thieves Rob Freight Car
Three bandits escaped with considerable merchandise stolen from a box car at the Ligonier Valley station, after a night watchman, Frank Becar, appeared and opened fire upon them about 9:30 o'clock Sunday night.
Five shots were sent after the fleeing bandits but none took effect.
The merchandise discovered missing had been shipped to the Robert Martin Ligonier Valley Supply company and the H. M. Cramer stores.
The police were notified as soon as the night watchman had routed the bandits and a search was begun for the three men. No trace of them was discovered however.
