Peoples Gas Abandons Well Near Longbridge
Ligonier, Pa., April 28. (Special.) The Peoples Natural Gas Company, for the past several years engaged in drilling a gas well known as No. 2, near Longbridge, along the Lincoln Highway, has given up hope of reaching gas and abandoned the well. The hole was drilled to a perpendicular depth of 6,000 feet, but due to the inability to keep the hole straight owning to the peculiar formations encountered, the company decided it would be useless to continue drilling. The pipe and other materials will be sent to West Virginia to be used in a well being put down there.
