Bridge Construction Not To Halt Traffic
Special to the Press
Ligonier, Pa., April 25. Motorists who use the Lincoln highway east and west of this place will be glad to hear that the construction work at McCance where a new concrete bridge is being erected, eliminating the Ligonier Valley railroad crossing will not interfere with traffic during the summer months. It is believed that the bridge which will also span the Loyalhanna creek will be completed by Sept. 1.
The viaduct when completed will be 744 feet in length and 24 feet wide with a four per cent grade from the west approach up to the abutment at the railroad while it will have a two and one-half per cent grade on the east approach. The span will be 30 feet above the creek and 22 feet above the railroad. The work will cost about $200,000.
