Well Deemed "Dry Hole"
According to reports the People's Natural Gas Co. has issued orders that further work will be suspended upon the No. 2 well, located on the railroad side of the Loyalhanna creek near Longbridge. The hole is down to a depth 40 feet farther than the No 1 well which is located alongside the Lincoln Highway, and which is a steady producer of a fair sized quantity of gas, being the deepest gas producing well in all the world. Drilling will be continued on the No. 3 well, located on the Lincoln Highway side, and the hole will be put down to a depth as great as that of the No. 1 well in the hope of getting into the sand.
