Drilling Deeper
Although the No. 2 well of the Peoples Natural Gas Company at Blue Rock is almost 30 feet deeper than the No. 1 well, the deepest gas producing well in the world, the sand has not been tapped. The No. 2 well, which is one the railroad side of the creek, is up on a hill, higher than the producing well, and consequently it will be necessary to drill to a greater depth before the sand is reached.
The depth of the No. 2 well is 6,850 feet, while that of the No 1 well is 6,822 feet.
Drilling in the No. 3 well, on the highway side of the creek, is progressing as rapidly as possible, since the installation of the 6,300 feet of casing.
