"Ligonier Express" Makes First Run
The "Ligonier Express," installed June 1, for its regular daily runs between Ligonier and Pittsburgh, during the summer months, made its initial trip Wednesday afternoon, running as an extra from the city to Ligonier, at which point it arrived at 2:45 o'clock.
For this inaugural run, the express was made up of Engine No. 1624, a combination car, two coaches and a chair car this being the regular equipment of the train and there was also carried the special car No. 583, belonging to R. T. Morrow, the superintendent of the division.
Quite an event was made of the first trip made by the train, as it bore quire a number or railroad officials who were the guests of W. V. Hyland general manager of the L.V.R.R., at Rolling Rock club, over night.
