Horses Burned to Death
Ten horses were burned to death at 2:30 o'clock Thursday morning when the barn of the Oakville Coal & Coke company, at Oakville, two miles south of Latrobe, was destroyed by fire believed to have been of incendiary origin. The loss is estimated at between $6,000 and $8,000, partly covered by insurance. Two watchmen had been employed at the barns but Wednesday night one of them was on leave. When the man on duty left the barn and started on his rounds through the yards, everything was as usual. Upon his return the flames were shooting high in the air and the fire had gotten much headway.
