L.V.R.R. to Change Time of Trains
The residents of Ligonier will be pleased to learn that through a rearrangement of the Pennsylvania railroad schedule, becoming effective November 24, they are going to get their evening mail a half hour sooner than they do now, as the evening train over the L.V.R.R. will be enabled to leave Latrobe at 6 oclock, instead of 6:29, as is now the case.
No. 10, the evening train from Pittsburgh, with which the L.V.R.R. makes connections now arrives here at 6:24.
Under the new Pennsy schedule it will leave Pittsburgh considerably earlier, and will get here at 5:50.
No. 18, the train which now is due at 6:03, will not arrive until 6:10 or thereabouts, but the L.V.R.R. train will not wait for it, but will depart after No. 10 arrives.
Under the Ligonier Valleys new schedule the morning train will leave Ligonier at 7:00 oclock, instead of 6:50 as at present. The balance of the schedule will be as now.
The Pennsylvania Railroad has not announced its schedule yet, but it is known that there will be numerous changes, most of them representing but a few minutes difference.
Embargo Still On Against the L.V.R.R.
The embargo declared by the P.R.R. against freight shipped over the L.V.R.R. was still in force today, with no modifications except as to shipments for bi-product plants.
Every siding is chuck full of freight, and numerous plants have found it necessary to curtail their operations very extensively.
The coke plants are storing their product but the shippers of coal are finding it necessary to restrict mining operations, except for railroad coal
The quarries, at Blue Rock, have been compelled to cut down on operations, likewise the Ligonier Lumber company.
Other plants, working on Government orders, are being enabled to operate, being furnished with box cars.
There wasnt an empty car in the Latrobe yards, this morning, and the L.V.R.R. didnt get a car.
