Closed $100,000 Coal Deal Last Week
James E. Smith of North Market street who has been doing some real estate business for several years, was successful recently in closing up a deal of coal land, the largest transacted in Ligonier valley for some time. He succeeded in placing on the market and selling to Seger Bros. the last large block of the Pittsburgh vein of coal in Ligonier valley. The coal lies in Fairfield township and was purchased from Charles D. Ramsey, J. Calvin Smith, Alex. Canfield, John Johnston and John Henderson. The consideration was approximately $100,000. The tract comprises about 125 acres.
