P. W. & S. Railroad Reported Sold

The early resumption of freight and passenger traffic on the P. W. and S. railroad, extending from Ligonier to Somerset, is forecasted by the announcement that the railroad has been purchase by a number of Pittsburgh capitalists, under the name of the Pittsburgh and Cambria Railroad company, with T. F. Barrett, of Pittsburgh, as president and John E. Ewing as general manager.

This company is said to have bought about 6,000 acres of coal and timber lands in Somerset county, neighboring Ursina, last winter, from the United Lumber and Railroad company, and an extension of the P. W. and S. to reach the acreage is reported to be among the plants in view.

The P. W. and S. has been out of business for some months.

The report is that the purchasers already have men at work putting the road in shape for the resumption of traffic.
