Ramsey Coal Company Makes Coal Purchase
Secured From A. B. Clifford, Of Ligonier Township, Nice Block Of "Black Diamonds"
About Twenty Acres Secured Price $25,00

The Ramsey Coal Company which has its coal field about four miles north of Ligonier and not far from Wilpen has bought a tract of coal adjoining and on the farm of A. B. Clifford of about 20 acres. The price paid for the coal, Mr. Clifford retaining the surface, is $25,000. The parties to the contract were at Greensburg Wednesday of last week when all the papers were prepared and signed and the transfer of the fine deposit of Pittsburgh vein of coal made from Mr. Clifford to the Ramsey Coal Company. Mr. Clifford retains the farm and has considerable other property to his assets. The company now owns considerable amount of the Pittsburgh vein of coal and will have enough to keep up operations for possibly the next 20 years.

Ligonier valley coal interests are being developed right along, especially is this true of the section north of town where the greatest body of the Pittsburgh coal is located. The several companies in that section are busy mining and shipping coal to the market. Never before in the history of the coal industry has there been such a demand for coal and at such high prices. We are glad to see the prosperity and the local industries booming. More coal shipped means more money and more money means more prosperity.

Both Mr. Clifford and the Ramsey Coal Company have done well in the completion of the transfer of this block of coal. Its operation in the future will mean additional work and prosperity to this section.
