Somerset People Missing P. W. & S.

Speaking of the termination of passenger service on the P. W. and S., which became effective a couple of weeks ago, the Somerset Herald says:

The discontinuation of the passenger train between Somerset and Ligonier means that a good many people, especially those living in the neighborhood of Husband and Allenvale, will be greatly inconvenienced and will have to return to the old method of traveling by buggy or wagon when they come to town. Traveling salesmen, who have used the P. W. and S. between here and Pittsburgh, will also be greatly inconvenienced, as they made better time and save considerable money by using that line. Those who will suffer the heaviest by reason of the discontinuance of the train will be the large number of Somerset people who used it in traveling to and from Pittsburgh the same day. By leaving here early in the morning they were able to reach Pittsburgh by 9:30 a.m., and after spending the day in the city they could start on the return trip at 5 oclock and reach home by 8:30 p.m.
