Railroads Operating Department Was Not Incommoded
Upon a claim for more than $5,000, held by the Byers-Allen Lumber Co., and a claim for $1,000, held by Attorney E. O. Kooser for legal services, Sheriff Hochard, of Somerset county, sold, yesterday, two old locomotives, a log loader and some furniture, belonging to the Pittsburgh, Westmoreland and Somerset Railroad Company. The stuff was bought in by the Byers-Allen Company. The purchase price did not cover the claims held against the railroad, but the creditors said that they would attempt to secure satisfaction in some manner other than by selling any more of the companys property, and the railroad was doing business as usual, last night, its operations not being at all embarrassed by the sale of the two old locomotives, the log loader or the furniture.
