Borough Council Met Last Night
Word From The L.V.R.R.

A letter from Mr. W. V. Hyland, of the Ligonier Valley Railroad, referring to the crossing situation, was presented by the solicitor, to whom the matter had been referred.

In the letter, the company's official stated: "Referring to our recent conversation relative to the crossings in Latrobe Borough would advise that we have done everything we think within reason to try to eliminate as near as possible the danger connected with same.

"As you know we have issued a general order to our engineers and conductors in regard to operating their trains through your borough, i.e., they are to have their trains under control, whereby they could make an immediate stop, if necessary. "We have placed signs along the right-of-way designating points to which cars may be left standing. This we believe will go a long ways toward reducing accidents.

"I want you to feel that we are willing to meet you at all times half way on any proposition you have to make and if there is anything we can do to further this movement we shall be pleased to hear from you."

The matter was continued in the hands of the solicitor.
