Sealed Verdict in Johnson Suit Against L.V.R.R.

Case of Dr. J. B. Johnson, Injured in the Wreck on the Wilpen Branch, July 5, 1912, Given to the Jury Tuesday Evening at 5:30 O'clock Jury Returned Sealed Verdict After Court Adjourned Ankey Damage Suit Against Same Company, on Trial Today.

Three Verdicts Tuesday In Favor of Plaintiffs

The damage suit of Dr. J. B. Johnson against the Ligonier Valley railroad, which was taken up before Judge A. D. McConnell, Monday morning, was given to the jury about 5:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. A sealed verdict was returned after the adjournment of court.

Much time was consumed in the trial of the case in the examining of physicians who testified as to the extent of the injuring suffered by Dr. Johnson in the wreck of July 5, 1912, on the Wilpen branch of the Ligonier Valley railroad. The testimony of the physicians for the plaintiff was that the injuries were of a permanent nature, and would interfere with his work as a practicing physician. The plaintiff has been a practicing physician in Ligonier for the past 10 years.

C. Ward Eicher made the closing address to the jury for the plaintiff and Colonel E.E. Robbins for the defendant company. The damage suit of Myrtle Ankey, up against the same defendant, will be taken up this morning.
