Close Call for Motorist at Main Street Crossing
The watchfulness of Engineer Thomas Dunlap, of the Liggie passenger train, avoided what might have been a serious accident, when an unknown motorist stalled his engine on the Main street crossing directly in front of the oncoming train.
The motorist had evidently thrown off his power while coasting down the Main street hill, and the engine did not pick up again when the level was reached. The machine stopped upon the track just as the Liggie was pulling into Latrobe. Engineer Dunlap applied his brakes and stopped his engine, before it could collide with the auto.
The motorist climbed out, pushed his machine from the track and let the train pass, after which he cranked up, and proceeded upon his way.
