Lumber Company Official Is Here
A. G. Scott, general manager of the Ligonier Lumber Company, which is shortly to begin the development of 2,800 acres of timberland, lying back of Kissell's Springs, was a visitor in Latrobe this morning.
He said that the company expected to let the contract, this week, for the building of the four and one-half miles of standard-gauge track which the Lumber Company plans to construct from Oak Grove to Kissell's.
The company's big mill is being loaded, in West Virginia, and is expected to arrive at Oak Grove, shortly. It is to be set up at Oak Grove.
Mr. Scott said that among the timber there is quite a lot suitable for furniture making, and the project of a furniture factory is being discussed.
The company expects to have its railroad built before the first of the year.
