Prosecutions Brought
Growing Out of Ligonier Valley Wreck Of July 5, 1912

Criminal prosecutions, growing out of the wreck on the Wilpen branch of the Ligonier Valley railroad on July 5, 1912, in which 23 persons were killed and more than that number injured, were started Wednesday afternoon of last week before Squire W. Irwin Hunter against George Senft, Frank Noel and Russell Minich.

Mr. Senft was manager of the road at time of the wreck and Noel and Minich were employed as train dispatcher and assistant manager. The informations were made by County Detective O. M. Fleming at the instance of District Attorney W. T. Dom, Jr.

Noel is the only defendant in the state. Mr. Senft and his family and his daughter, Mrs. James Peters, and granddaughter Mary Helen Peters are in California as also is Mr. Minich.

The case will not come up before November term of court on account of two of the defendants being in California. Mr. Noel has given bail for his appearance at court.
