Two Damage Suits
Entered by Claimants Against Ligonier Valley Railroad Co.

Suit for damages growing out of the Wilpen wreck, of July 5, 1912, was instituted against the Ligonier Valley Railroad, Wednesday.

Dr. J. B. Johnson, a prominent Ligonier physician, who was seriously injured in the disaster, his life having hung by a thread for several days, is the plaintiff in the suit, which is the third to be filed against the company. Dr. Johnson asks for $30,000. His attorneys are Eicher and Eicher, of Greensburg.

Mrs. Myrtle Ankney, the widow of John M Ankney, a locomotive fireman who was killed in the Wilpen wreck on the Ligonier Valley road on July 5, last, filed a suit in the prothonotary's office Thursday, asking for $2,000 damages for the death of her husband. McCurdy and McConnell are the attorneys for the plaintiff. This is the first suit filed against the company for damages by any relative of the employes who were killed in the wreck. Mr. Ankney lived on Church street, Ligonier, and was a son of C. C. Ankney.
