Idlewild Parks Coming Season
Preparations Will Be Made For Big Picnics
Low Rates From P.R.R. Secured
Special preparations will be made this spring for the handling of many and big picnics to Idlewild parks the coming summer by the Ligonier Valley railroad management under the direction of General Manager Geo. Senft. The grounds will be put in the finest order
possible and many other improvements will be made to make the popular Idlewild, the great picnic Mecca, still more popular, and a greater number and larger picnic gatherings than for many years are expected this season.
The P.R.R. Co. has been finally induced to lower the rates to Idlewild for the picnic crowds and the special excursion rates for picnic parties this season from Pittsburgh will be one dollar for the round trip and rates from other places have also been proportionally reduced which will be quite an inducement for Pittsburgh people and those from other places to come to far-famed and popular Idlewild which is one of the most attractive places in Western Pennsylvania for a day of outing, real pleasure and enjoyment. We look for a large number of big picnics the coming season at Idlewild. A number of organizations are already talking about going to Idlewild and soon will be making plans to bring the people to a place that everybody always enjoys and wants to come back
again.
The season will open as usual with Decoration day big annual picnic when thousands of people will in all probability be on the grounds. A few small picnics are usually held earlier than Decoration day but with this day the Idlewild picnic season will begin in real earnest and continue up to the first of September.
