Twenty-One Deer Arrived Monday
Taken To Mountain Game Preserve By Dr. Ulrich
A Big Excitement in Ligonier
Twenty-one deer recently trapped on Grand Isle game preserve in Michigan passed through Ligonier Monday and were taken up to the mountain and placed in the game preserve enclosure by Dr. G. A. Ulrich who has charge of the matter. The deer arrived at Ligonier station on 10 o'clock train. There was a large crowd of people in waiting to see the deer and who were permitted to see them. It was reported that they would arrive the day previous and about one thousand people were at the station but were disappointed. The animals were taken on up to the mountain Monday and placed in the enclosure but before night all but two had broken out, another report says seven. Plenty of feed has been left for them and they will likely not go away far. Dr. Ulrich will do his best to take care that they remain on the game preserve, as they will be quite an accession to the game on the mountain.
