Controlling Interest In P. W. & S. R. R. To Be Offered For Sale
An opportunity to secure a controlling interest in the Pittsburg, Westmoreland & Somerset Railroad Co. is to be offered at the Exchange salesroom, No. 16 Vesey street, New York City, on the 19th of January, when Lawrence E. Sexton, as trustee in bankruptcy for Kessler & Company, will offer at public sale 3,537 shares, representing a majority of the stock in the railroad company. Kessler & Company, it appears, financed the construction of a portion of the road, and at the time of their failure they held the 3,537 shares of stock which their trustees in bankruptcy will proceed to sell.
Should the shares of stock, representing a majority interest, pass into the hands of a progressive, the rehabilitation of the railroad might result. Numerous local residents will be interested in the sale of the majority interest, as some of the railroad company's stock is held here. Latrobe Bulletin
