The Pittsburg, Westmoreland and Somerset Railroad was connected with the Baltimore and Ohio line Friday. The former is virtually an extension to Somerset of the Ligonier Valley Railroad, owned by the Mellons, of Pittsburg. It connects Latrobe and Ligonier. The connection made shortens the distance between Cumberland and Pittsburg twenty-three miles and between Somerset and Pittsburg thirty-two miles.
