Held Arbitration
Regarding Passing Of Extension Of L.V.R.R. Through A. B. Clifford Farm
Last Saturday the arbitrators appointed by court to inquire into the damages sustained by A. B. Clifford from the passing through his farm along the Hannah's Run in Ligonier township of the extension of the Ligonier Valley R.R. The arbitrators, the attorneys for each side and witnesses met in the office of the Byers-Allen Lumber Co. and testimony was taken as to the amount of damages sustained by Mr. Clifford. The arbitrators were J. T. Hughes, J. W. Lohr, J. T. McLaughlin, E. J. Shadle, of Latrobe, and J. M. McWilliams and Warren Mitchell, of Greensburg.
After hearing the various estimates of the witnesses the arbitrators then deliberated on the matter and fixed the damage at $1,500. The arbitrators and others interested were out over the L.V.R.R. extension Saturday forenoon taking a view of the situation. The attorney for the railroad company is Hon. E. E. Robbins and for Mr. Clifford, D. C. Ogden and Wm. T. Dom.
