A car load of scoops, shovels and other implements for railroad construction has been
brought to Ligonier and stood on the tie siding at foot of Vincent street last Monday night preparatory to being taken out to be used in the extension of the Ligonier Valley Railroad to the new coal and coke works on the Lytle farm about five miles north of town and known as the Wilpen works of the Shenango Furnace Co. Work will be proceeded with at once both on the extension of the road and the construction of the new coal works at Wilpen. We expect great activity along this line in the near future that will put new activity into the financial affairs of this section.
