Quick Work Of Train Crew
Ligonier Valley Train Stopped Within Few Inches Of Man's Body
McCance, May 17. While a heavy loaded freight train in charge of Conductor Knox was rounding the curve near Darlington this morning the engineer discovered a man's body lying between the rails. By the quick use of the emergency brakes the hand brakes, the heavy train was brought to a stop within a few inches of the body. The man was picked up by the crew from his perilous position. His name is John Needham and he resides at Darlington, and is employed at the Blue Rock quarries as a paving cutter.
