About 11,000 Acres Bought In Fairfield Township
By Buffalo Capitalists
Engineers are busy at work in the vicinity of Ft. Palmer and West Fairfield surveying the tract of coal land, about 11,000 acres in all, which has recently been purchased by J. N. Croslen, of New Florence, for a Buffalo, N. Y., syndicate. W. E. Lansford and E. A. Litzell are president and vice president of the company respectively. This tract is some three of four miles in width, extending south to Hillsview.
Machinery for conducting the preliminary operations have arrived in New Florence and operations will begin immediately.
Several farms have been purchased along the P.R.R. where the shaft will be sunk and to which the valley coal will be taken by subterranean electric lines.
