Rumors That A Big One Will Be Erected There For Next Season
The Bulletins timely article about the popularity of Darlington as a summer resort, printed two weeks ago, is given additional interest by the report that a big summer hotel is to be built on the Ligonier Valley Railroad Companys property, and is to be backed by the company. The way in which people have flocked to Darlington this year has led many to think that a summer hotel, fitted with modern conveniences would prove a paying investment, and the rumor that one is to be built, is well founded.
Upward of 125 visitors have been at Darlington at one time, during the present summer, and for the past three months nearly every farm house within a radius of a mile of Darlington has been well filled with summer boarders. Most of them have come from Pittsburg and without exception all appeared to have fallen in love with the place. There is nothing for them to do except to rest, and that appears to be one reason why the place has become so popular.
