New Railroad Projected
Road Being Surveyed By Colonial Coal & Coke Co. To Bolivar
A crew of surveyors started out Monday of this week to make a survey of the proposed Westmoreland Central Railroad from Ligonier to Bolivar, the object being to tap the coal and timber lands of northern Ligonier valley and secure an eastern market for the coal and other products of this section. It is reported that the Clearfield Lumber Company is interested in seeing this road built that they may be able to ship the timber on their extensive mountain tract direct to the eastern market.
