L. V. R. R. Is Fighting The New W. C. R. R. Co.
Preliminary Injunction Was Granted Yesterday Restraining W. C. R. R. From Continuing Its Operations. Hearing Set For Monday

A Big Law Suit Is Now In Sight

The Ligonier Valley Railroad Company does not intend that the Westmoreland Central shall build a competing line if it can help it. The Westmoreland Company is at the present time constructing a road from Ligonier to Bolivar, connecting with the Pennsy at the latter place. This road-when built- would undoubtedly take some of the L. V. R. R.s Business in and out of Ligonier, and the L. V. R.R. company is fighting its construction.

Yesterday a preliminary injunction was granted by Judge A. D. McConnell, restraining the Central company from further operations in the building of its line.

According to the affidavit made by James R. Mellon, the President of the L.V.R.R.,which accompanied the application for the injunction, the route projected by the W.C.R.R. is part of the right of way of the L.V.R.R., being simply an extension of the latters line from Latrobe to Ligonier.

The validity of the organization of the W.C.R.R, company is also questioned, it being alleged that it was formed for the sole purpose of harassing and interfering with the operations of the L. V. R.R. The hearing on the temporary injunction will be heard on Monday morning.
