May Select Different Route
The companies interested in the building of the Westmoreland railroad held a meeting through their representatives Monday night in the office of the president of the company. O. E. Hallam, Pittsburg. The following companies had representatives present: Oliver-Snyder Coal and Coke company, Steel Coal company, Seger Brothers Coal and Lumber company, Byers-Allen Lumber company and Hood & Co.
It was decided to build the road from Ligonier to Bolivar, passing up Mill Creek to Oak Grove, thence past Lytles and Hammills school houses, through the coal lands of the Oliver-Snyder company, on to Bolivar and there make connection with the Pennsylvania. Later it is planned to build from Ligonier to Indian Creek and then down the Youghiogheny to New Haven.
