The Pittsburg, Westmoreland and Somerset has been extended during the last year from Summit to Zufall, a distance of six miles, and it is reported that a further extension is to be built from Zufall to Somerset, seven miles. The old line extends from Ligonier to Bluestone, a fraction over seven miles. The general offices of the company are at the former place. The road is a standard gauge line and the rolling stock consists of two locomotives, twenty-six freight cars and one passenger car. When the line is built through to Somerset in connection with the Pennsylvania to Latrobe and the Ligonier Valley it will form a direct route to Somerset from Pittsburg.
