Tiny Railroad Station in Service 63 Years
Latrobe, Pa., (U.P.) The smallest railroad passenger station in the country has been in use since 1878 on the Ligonier Valley Railroad, at Idlewild Park.
The tiny station, measuring approximately 9 by 16 feet and 9 feet high, is divided into three compartments the waiting room for passengers comprises one-half of the space; one-half of the remaining houses the telegraph operator and ticket agent, and the remaining quarter is the freight and express office.
