Mrs. Harry Iscrupe Severely Burned
A kimona which Mrs. Harry Iscrupe had put on over her nightgown caught fire from an open gas stove in the kitchen of her home early Monday morning and she was severely burned before the blaze was extinguished. The flesh of her back from the hips to her neck was burned and blistered.
Mrs. Iscrupe had gone to the kitchen about 5:16 o'clock, to prepare her husband's breakfast, before he went to his work as fireman on the Ligonier Valley Railroad.
The coal cook stove failed to provide sufficient warmth to heat the kitchen and she lighted a small gas stove, which is also situated in the room. It is believed that while she was walking pas the latter stove, her kimona brushed against the blaze and was ignited.
In tearing the blazing clothing from his wife, Mr. Iscrupe was badly burned about the hands.
A physician was summoned who dressed the burns. Mrs. Iscrupe is getting along as well as can be expected.
