Costly Buildings Being Erected
In Ligonier The Coming Summer For Residence And Business Purpose Both To Be Brick.
Segers And E. C. Ramsey Will Build Fine Houses

Two high priced and splendid new brick buildings are started and are to be erected in Ligonier the coming summer that will add considerable to the utility and wealth of the town.

Seger Bros. have the plans ready and have started toward the erection of a fine business block on West Main Street on corner near the Ligonier Valley railroad station on site formerly occupied as store room and at present by C. M. Cramer as a general store. To vacate the corner lot and still permit Mr. Cramer to continue in the business the building in which the store is conducted has been moved off the corner lot a short distance west toward the railroad station. The new building will be a brick structure of three stories. The first floor to be used as a store room and to be occupied by Mr. Cramer as soon as it is ready for occupancy; the second floor will be used as offices for the increasing business of the Seger coal interests who have several coal operations in this section; the third story will be given over to the uses of the office requirements of the coal operations. It is stated that this business block completed will cost about $35,000 and will be one of the most complete business blocks.

The contractor is George Bennett of Ligonier, with office in Pittsburgh, with H. S. Lohr looking after the awarding of the contract and having the management of its construction. This building will add very materially to that part of the town and will be in harmony with the splendid Ligonier Valley Railroad station.

The beautiful, costly and modern gray brick residence under course of construction by E. C. Ramsey on East Church street near St. Clair street, of which H. S. Lohr is contractor, will when completed, be one of the largest, most costly and complete residences of our town and be nicely located with ample grounds surrounding the home. No figures as to coast have been given out but an estimate of twenty to twenty five thousand dollars would likely approximate the cost.

We are pleased to see these and other costly buildings erected for business and for homes for our people as it indicates progress, wealth and prosperity for our town. With more new residences there will be opportunity for the growth of Ligonier and its increased importance as the metropolis of Ligonier valley so beautifully situated on the Lincoln Highway.
