Kingston Paper Mill Is To Reopen With Full Force
Good news is found for the Latrobe community in the announcement made today that the Kingston mill of the Barrett Company is to resume work. It will probably take all of next week to make necessary repairs in and about the mill, and to get the machinery in working order.
The coal mine is to be opened on Monday, and all of next week will be devoted to getting the mill in shape so that the engines can start and the entire plant hum with the whirr of industry about the 23rd of June.
Large contracts and orders have been received for the Kingston plant which will enable it to be run with a full force. Other orders are expected to come in so that the plant which has been shut down for some time, may be kept going all the time. The work of its resumption comes as splendid news to Latrobe and will accelerate the return to normal of local and industrial conditions in this district.
