Ligonier Valley-Brakeman Seriously Hurt, Knocked From Car Roof

Charles Irwin, a Ligonier Valley brakeman, is at his home in a very serious condition, suffering from internal injuries received yesterday afternoon, when he was knocked from the top of a freight car.

He was on a train which was being backed into the shed at the Ligonier station, and neglected to stop as the car upon which he was standing passed through the low entrance with the result that he was swept off.

At first it was not thought that he was seriously hurt, but internal injuries were found to have been received, this morning, when hemorrhages developed, and at noon it was feared that he could not recover.

He is 24 years of age and has a wife and two small children. He is a son of John Irwin, of Ligonier.
