P. W. & S. Rails Being Lifted, It Is Reported
According to the Somerset Democrat workmen are engaged in tearing up the rails on the Ligonier end of the P. W. & S. railroad, with every indication pointing to an abandonment of the road. The Democrat, commenting upon the great value of the road to Somerset, by reason of the new territory opened up, and the short route to Pittsburgh provided, urges the business interests of Somerset to make an effort to save the road, and to make possible its development into a first class railroad.
