Ovens Fired Up
Fires were started, yesterday, in the ovens at the new plant of the Connellsville Coke and Fuel Company, located in the Ligonier Valley. This is a plant of seventy or more ovens, owned by Connellsville interests. It was completed some time ago, but owing to the slump then prevailing in the coke market, it was not started up, the owners preferring to await better times. The better times have now come, and the output of this plant will be added to the long strings of cars of coal and coke coming down out of the valley each day.
