It Is Reported District Attorney Is To Prosecute L.V.R.R. Officials
District Attorney Dom was in Harrisburg, yesterday, it is declared, for the purpose of conferring with Attorney General John G. Bell, relative to the proposed institution of criminal proceedings against the officials of the Ligonier Valley Railroad Company, because of the wreck on the Wilpen branch, last July.
It is reported that criminal actions were decided upon, the same to be begun in Greensburg, and to be listed for the May term of court. Which officials are to be involved in the proceedings was not made public.
Following the investigation of the wreck, made by the Railroad Commission, the findings were turned over to the Attorney General's department, and it is said that this department submitted them to Mr. Dom for action. Mr. Dom attended the Coroner's inquest which was held some time following the wreck, and which resulted in a verdict placing the responsibility upon the company. Criminal negligence, likely, would be the charge, in case actions are instituted against the officials.
