Dr. Johnson Asks For $30,000 Damages From The L.V.R.R
Was Hurt In Wreck

Another suit for damages, growing out of the Wilpen wreck, was instituted against the Ligonier Valley Railroad, yesterday.

Dr. J. B. Johnson, a prominent Ligonier physician, who was seriously injured in the disaster, his life having hung by a thread for several days, is the plaintiff in the suit, which is the third to be filed against the company. Dr. Johnson asks for $30,000. His attorneys are Eicher and Eicher, of Greensburg.

The plaintiff says in his statement of claim he purchased a ticket the day the wreck occurred, from Ligonier to Wilpen. He charges that the defendant ran the train on which he was traveling so negligently that two freight engines crashed into the passenger coach, smashing it to pieces. By reason of the collision, the plaintiff says, he was thrown from the coach into a mass of wreckage and was severely injured.

On account of the injuries he suffered, which were caused by the defendant's alleged negligence, the plaintiff says he was compelled to undergo medical treatment for a period of four months, and forced to pay out large sums of money. The injuries also prevented him from following his profession as a practicing physician, which lost him large sums of money. Dr. Johnson also maintains that by reason of the injuries he suffered, causing a breakdown of his health, he last a large part of his practice by reason of some of his patients going to other doctors, following the accident.
