Engineer Summoned to Appear

George Henderson, the well known freight conductor of Derry, who was in charge of the train which was stalled on the L.V.R.R. crossings, at noon, on Tuesday, has been summoned to appear before Justice White, between the hours of seven and eight, next Monday evening to defend a suit which has been entered to recover a penalty of $25, provided by the Act of 1911, in the case of a conductor or any other railroad man who blocks a crossing with his train. An endeavor will be made to show that the conductor did not break his train, or otherwise open the crossings, within a reasonable length of time, so as to permit of the passing across of the very considerable number of people held up by the blockade. The burgess will appear as the prosecutor in the case. The hope of the burgess is that the case will service to call to the attention of the company the necessity of making other arrangements for the handling of trains, not involving the tying up of the L.V.R.R. crossings.
