Looked Over Glass Plant
D. A. Shearer, superintendent of the Mississippi Glass Company, was out from Pittsburgh, Thursday, to make an inspection of the companys plant, located in the Fifth ward. The plant while closed down and dismantled, more than five years ago, is not being allowed to fall into a disreputable state, as the company keeps the buildings repaired, carries insurance on them, and maintains a day watchman, as well as a night watchman at the place. The Mississippi Company bought the plant to eliminate the competition which it represented when owned by an independent company. The only terms upon which the company would lease the place, probably, would be on the condition that it would not be used for wire glass making.
