Ligonier Valley Twenty-First Reunion
Held at Famous Idlewild Thursday, August 29 - - Large Enjoyable Crowd Present
Fully Five Thousand People Present On Valley Day
Notwithstanding the big rain of the night previous and the threatening condition of the weather Thursday morning, a large crowd of happy pleasure seekers assembled at the far-famed and popular Idlewild parks on this the twenty-first annual reunion of Ligonier valley people and their friends. The day proved to be a very pleasant one sandwiched between rain that preceded and rain that followed in this season of excessive wet weather. The usual schedule of trains over the L.V.R.R. took almost as many people to the picnic grounds as last year and there were hundreds of people who came in automobiles, buggies, carriages, hay-wagons and other forms of conveyances, swelling the happy, jolly
crowd of valley people and friends to fully five thousand.
There were the usual sources of . . . . . . . representation of people over from Somerset county who mixed with the valley friends and relatives. The L.V.R.R. and P. W. & S. R.R. handled the crowds without a single accident. The rush of people over the L.V.R.R. requires so many trains on Ligonier valley reunion day that all freight traffic on the road has to be abandoned for the day and the entire attention given to the many picnic trains.
