The Dead.
MAT NIEPORT, of 2528 Larkin Alley, Pittsburgh. Son of Mrs. M. Nieport. Employed as a coal miner at Wilpen. Died in Latrobe Hospital. He was on his way home from the
Westmoreland Hospital where he had lain since the 19th of May, with a broken leg, when he received the injuries which ended in his death.
GEORGE W. HUBLEY, 18 years of age, of 345 Graham street, Pittsburgh. Civil engineer on his way to work with corps along the Ligonier Valley Railroad. Was graduated from Pittsburgh High this year. Died on train en route to Latrobe.
JOHN ANKNEY, aged 35 years, firemen of Ligonier. Fireman on freight train. Crushed about the chest. Died on way to Latrobe Hospital. Survived by widow and by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chris C. Ankney, of Latrobe.
MARY ELIZABETH RHODDY, 12 years old. Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry W. Rhoddy, of McCance. Fracture at base of brain. Left arm broken. Died in the Latrobe
hospital at 9:00 p.m.
WALTER D. SERENA, teller of McKeesport National Bank. A resident of McKeesport; was spending his vacation near Wilpen. Was injured internally, condition serious. Has wife and family. Taken to Wilmerding Hospital. Died this morning.
MRS. MAUDE OVERTON, age 25, wife of John Overton, of Wilpen. Body crushed. Died on way to Allegheny General Hospital. Body sent to Blairsville Intersection.
FRANK McCONNAUGHEY, aged 46, of Ligonier. Engineer on freight train. Scalded
to death beneath engine. Survived by two daughters, Mary and Ethel.
GEORGE TOSH, 65 years of age, of Ligonier township. Veteran of Civil War.
Survived by one son, John. Crushed about the breast and right leg broken.
JOHN OVERTON, aged 7. Son of John Overton, yard boss at Shenango Furnace, Wilpen. Left leg crushed. Died at Latrobe Hospital at 11:10 today.
LOUISE RHODDY, 6 and one-half years old. Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry W. Rhoddy, of McCance. Body crushed.
FRANK OVERTON, 10 years old, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Overton, of Wilpen. Head crushed. Body taken to Ligonier.
GEORGE BYERS, aged 28, of Ligonier. Fireman on wrecked engine. Legs severed, body scalded. Survived by widow.
THOMAS MUIR, 52 years of age, of Elizabeth Coal Works. Head crushed. Survived by widow and family.
MRS. HARRY DILLON, aged 30 years, of Wilpen. Wife of coal miner. Body and head crushed.
INFANT, daughter of Mrs. Harry Dillon. Her only child. Hardly a mark was found on her body.
MRS. M. ESSE, 34 years of age. An Assyrian, of Wilpen. No children. Head crushed.
MIKE HUDOCK, of Wilpen. Crushed about the body.
MRS. NETTIE GRAY, wife of Bernard J. Gray, aged 23 years, of Wilpen. Crushed to death.
ROY BORING GRAY, foster son of Mrs. Gray, 10 years of age. Crushed to death.
FRANK HOLLZMAN, aged 50, Miner employed at Fort Ligonier plant.
JOHN BLUSH, foreign miner, living at Ligonier. Employed at Wilpen.

MISS ESTHER MATTHEWS, of Pittsburgh. Nurse of General Manager George Senft. Taken to Pittsburgh, at Allegheny General Hospital. Left leg broken. Right arm broken. Internal injuries feared.
SMITH C. BEATTY, aged 35, of Ligonier. Engineer on freight engine. Left arm lacerated, arteries severed, left ear torn, bruised on face. At Latrobe Hospital. Condition serious. Has wife and child.
BERNEDATTA ANDREWS, 8 years old, daughter of Mrs. And Mrs. John Andrews, of Ligonier. Fractured hip, long cuts in leg and on head. Foot crushed. Condition serious. Taken to West Penn Hospital.
MARRY HELEN PETERS, aged three years, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Peters, of Ligonier. Left leg broken at thigh and ankle. Left arm broken. Head cut. Hopes entertained for her recovery.
DR. C. A. HAMILL, of Ligonier, physician. Injured about the head. Not serious. At his
home. Dr. Hamill was formerly a resident physician at the Westmoreland Hospital, at Greensburg.
ALICE RITENOUR, aged 14, of Bolivar. Employed as a domestic in Ligonier. Puncture wound in chest. Extensive laceration of left leg below the knee. At Latrobe Hospital.
WILLIAM CAMPBELL, 25 years of age. Trainman. Cut on the head and face. Feared he has concussion of brain. Married within past year. Taken to West Penn Hospital.
CHARLES KUHN, conductor on passenger train. Leg broken in two places. Ligaments of left ankle sprained. Taken to Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.
B. J. GRAY, aged 22 years. Miner at Fort Palmer. Left leg broken. Laceration on left knew. Contusion of skull. Condition serious. At Latrobe Hospital.
WILLIAM BROWNFIELD, five year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Brownfield, of Ligonier. Scalp wound. Treated at Latrobe Hospital and taken home.
RAYMOND ANKNEY, 14 years old, son of Freeman Ankney, of Cook township. Right leg broken. Taken to Allegheny General Hospital.
DR. J. B. JOHNSTON, of Ligonier, physician. Hurt about the head and body. Vomiting blood. Condition serious. At his home.
BESSIE HOON, 16 years of age, daughter of Edward Hoon, of Ligonier. Arm broken and hole in her head. At Latrobe Hospital.
HARRY KNOX, conductor on freight train. Scalp lacerated in serious manner. Taken to Allegheny General Hospital.
ANTHONY STOREY, 20 years of age, of Ligonier. Lung punctured. Not expected to
recover. At Latrobe Hospital.
SARAH EDSALL, aged 19, daughter of George Edsall, of Ligonier R.F.D., No. 1. Face scratched and cut in head.
FRANK BALKA, aged 20, of Monastery Slope, Latrobe. Clerk in Wilpen store. Leg
broken. In Latrobe Hospital.
BARNARDE COPENE, laborer, of Fort Palmer. Head cut and right foot crushed. Taken to Latrobe Hospital.
STEVE SPIVAK, 43 years of age. Railroader, of Wilpen. Suffering from contusions.
