Local Men Suffer Heavy Loss
Fire Destroys Sawmill Plant for the Second Time Within a Year
Fire destroyed the sawmill of the Blair Lumber Company, located near Ligonier on Wednesday evening, entailing a loss estimated between $5,000 and $6,000. The loss, however, is protected by $2,500 insurance in the Thompson agency. The mill was located in the center of an extensive timber tract. The origin of the fire is not known but the circumstances point strongly to incendiarism.
Less than a year ago another sawmill belonging to the company was burned under similar circumstances. The members of the company are James and David Blair, of town.
