Indiana Business Has a Fire Loss
Saw-Mill of the Blair Lumber Co., at Ligonier Destroyed
For the second time within a year the sawmill of the Blair Lumber Co., about eight miles from Ligonier, together with nearly all the machinery, was totally destroyed by fire, Wednesday evening, Aug. 11, about 10:30 oclock. The origin of the fire is a mystery and as the night watchman was not around at the time of the conflagration, the details are very meagre.
The saw mill is located in the centre of a large tract of excellent timber land, containing over 35,000 acres and located in Westmoreland and Somerset counties.
The loss which will amount to between $5,000 and $6,000 is partially covered by $2,500 insurance in the M. M. Thompson Agency.
The other fire a year ago was also of a mysterious origin and points very strongly to incendiarism.
